Design and Display

Talking of the design, the smartphone bears an all-plastic build with a plastic frame and a plastic back. The camera module is now more or less uniform all across the Samsung phones released in 2023. You get a protruding dual lens with an LED flash next to it.

Likewise, on the front, you are looking at a 6.7-inch PLS LCD screen with an HD+ resolution. The official site doesn’t mention anything about the refresh rate. It’s likely to be the static 60Hz motion.

Performance

As a budget device, Samsung has opted for a Mediatek Helio G85 SoC for the Galaxy A05. This 4G silicon features two Cortex A-75 cores clocking at 2.0GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores running at 1.8GHz. This upgrade will significantly provide a major performance boost over the Helio P35 found on the A04. Meanwhile, there is a Mali-G52 MC2 GPU handling the graphics side.

Memory-wise, you get 6GB RAM and 128GB expandable internal storage. And booting the phone is OneUI Core edition built on top of Android 13.

Camera

On the optics side, the Galaxy A05 sports a dual camera setup. It is headlined by a 50MP main camera and a 2MP depth sensing unit. Over on the front, you get an 8MP snapper for selfies and taking video calls.

Battery and Others

Fueling the smartphone is a 5000mAh battery under the hood. Samsung has amped the charging speed this time with 25W fast charging support. But it’s likely that you’ll have to purchase one separately. Moreover, the connectivity options include WiFi 5, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C port.
